The School Year
School Support at all levels
Our collaborative school year program
In elementary school, your child must master their number facts and develop numerical fluency. They begin with computation and problem solving using whole numbers, and then move on to computation and problem solving with rational numbers (fractions, decimals, percents, negative numbers).
This foundation is essential for pre-algebra and algebra, which they will encounter in middle school.
In middle school, your student should master computation and problem solving with rational numbers (fractions, decimals, percents, exponents, roots, negative numbers), and become proficient in first year algebra (Algebra I) creating a solid mathematical foundation for Algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus.
In high school, your student focuses on higher math, mastering algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and probability in preparation for high school exit exams, college placement exams, and standardized college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT.
We at 1 on 1 Math Coaching know how to lift your student's math skills and their confidence. Based on your opinions and our review of your child, we assemble an ever-changing program just for them, designed to close any educational gaps that they may have and stretch ahead when they are ready for advanced math challenges. Mental math is emphasized, but a calculator, with your permission, is not forbidden.

We will coach your child after school for as long as they need it. Remote access live online is available, and together we'll set the office hours for your child.
SUBJECT SUPPORT -

Sometimes, and in some areas, even the best student needs added support. We will provide subject specific support in a timely manner for your student. This is a very popular selection, because it allows the student added support during the immediacy of the school year. We package this support with our HOMEWORK PROGRAM.
TEST AND PROJECT BASED PROGRAM -

Test anxiety is a crippling and degenerative affliction. The worse your student does on exams, the worse they think they will do in the future. At 1 on 1 Math Coaching, we break the cycle of destructive behavior with positive reinforcement and results! This program is available as a package of short, but intense, coaching centered instruction, specifically tailored to the tests and projects.
Use our "WizIQ" virtual program -
(Arranged on an hourly basis, less the commute!)
1 on 1 Math Coaching is completely virtual if you want. We offer the same 1 on 1 math coaching, but now we merely connect live online so there are no issues of safety or commuting! Just log on, and we'll teach directly on a whiteboard. Practice problems are loaded on PDF files, and we will work through them together.
